Dr. Stern was raised in Evanston, Illinois, and attended college at the University of Illinois. He attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine from 1972 to 1976 (now part of The William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science).
